Castor and Pollux
« on: July 18, 2011, 01:03:08 PM »
It's me again!

So, I have had these Argonauts sitting about, not doing much really. No Hydras to behead, nor maidens to save from sea monsters... so I did a bit of work on them.

Here are Castor and Pollux (well, Pollux and Castor actually):

I was doing some research and thought they might look a little better with some different weapons, as they were revered as great hunters (and horsemen, but alas)... They had the standard blade the entire range seems to be equipped with. Except for the Castor figure, his entire right hand was a blob. All the more reason for a conversion.

I'm quite happy with the hand:

Just one of the many things I am working on at the moment. I should probably sit down and finish something!

What do you guys think? I am hoping to make them a Boar of Calydonia to fight.

They both look awesome, especially Castor's hand.

As for the boar, unless you are set on sculpting one, there is an awesome Reaper one

or a nice pre-painted Chainmail one

Wow! Some pretty cool stuff there, Frank. I like the Chainmail stuff.

Reaper have some really nice minis tucked away on their site. I might have to place another order some time... particularly for their Hydra:

That Hydra is S W E E T!!  :o  :o  :o

One of our best D&D games involved the PCs fleeing from a horrible infernal hydra through the depths of a Dwarven ruin.

I would have killed to have THAT mini then.

This project looks to be very cool.

I'll try and keep it small so I can eventually pull off a game! Not many more conversions in the works, anyway. I am building some terrain though... turning out kind of big :)

Thanks guys! I will try to get them done soon...

Speaking of all things Boar-like, I did see this on Victoria Lamb's website:

Worth a pretty penny though! ($50 AUD)
