Croes Cutthroats [PICS]
« on: July 22, 2011, 08:11:58 PM »
Hello adventurers! For Malebolgia of Paintoholic fame (http://www.paintoholic.nl/) I painted this merry band of mercenaries. They're by Privateer Press for their Warmachine/Hordes games. The models are quite nice though they took a bit more assembly time than single part figures, as these were no less than five parts each (not counting the resin bases). Other than that they are very finely detailed!

Malebolgia requested a bit of a dark painting scheme as these models are rather sneaky and have a bit of an assassin role in the game. Malebolgia will finish the bases himself and possibly indulge us with better pictures as my photo set-up is rather poor at the moment.

Anyway, on to the pictures, enjoy!

Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

Very very nice!

Which minis are they? I've just had a look through the range and can't seem to find them.

Very nice, Arjen.
Good natural colouring.

Thanks all!

Mr. J> all I nknow is they're called "Croes Cutthroats" and if you search for that online you'll find pictures of these models. I don't know if they're still in production, I'm not that much in the know of Privateer Press stuff.

Great job!  Love that Croe model.  Nice headswaps too.  They're still in production.

VERY WELL DONE! You've done the "sinister aspect" up SPLENDIDLY; since doing the dark & menacing look is not a strong point with moi, I admire those who can achieve it.

Good job, Pil! They're very nice. Reminds me I need to get to the bases on my Bugman's and Mengil's. I'm basically waiting for a gaming session to be planned, forcing me to finish them. =/

Was looking at them the other day as potential enemies for my dwarves.  Lovely, gloomy work that I've no hope of replicating.  :-*

Which minis are they? I've just had a look through the range and can't seem to find them.

They're part of the Mercenary Faction of Warmachine. (PIP41026)

Great job!  Love that Croe model.  Nice headswaps too.  They're still in production.

Thanks! Malebolgia supplied me with a bag of heads from different sources to use on them, I rather liked the helmeted heads so I used them as well, I believe the rest are standard heads but I'm not sure 8)

Thanks to the rest too!
