More from the 'Nam
« on: April 18, 2011, 09:31:35 AM »
Last week, with my son home for a few days from uni, we decided that it was time to have another game and try to finally tweak the rules we are working on covering post WWII skirmish games and as we have enough stuff for Vietnam we decided that a platoon of American infantry would be travelling across country to seize and secure a Ville, with support from an M48 and a Huey Hog, maybe this was, in hindsight, far too much firepower.

A few more pictures on my blog of the game

The aim is to get the rules published and then have a blog which will have details of scenario ideas as well as alternative rules we use for specific scenarios.  The first couple of scenario ideas are up and can be found here

I have now managed to copy a few over, so a couple of shots are now included.  Sorry but I couldn't figure out how to copy piccies over before.

No probs mate - wasn't having a pop, its just that putting a few photos in your thread (rather than just a blog link) gets more hits for yourself, and contributes something to LAF, rather than just diverting traffic away.

 :)

Nice looking game - i'm literally just starting a Nam project myself, so seeing other's take on it, is good for my motivation.

Is that M48 a green army man plastic tank?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

I checked out your blog, very nice. Really like your terrain. Thanks for the details on making hooches, will have to try them. I believe the M-48 is a Corgi, I have a few of them myself. I don't think it looks out of scale. Thanks for sharing.

I have a couple of both the Corgi and the Green army men models of the M48 and they are very similar in size. I'm going to dig the plastic ones into the terrain as the wheels are not very good and the lower hull is missing.

I have 5 GAM plastic M48s I use plus one I melted that battled aliens.
Problem I have is getting stuff to stick to it, keeps popping off.
