Hello all! I haven't posted pics of unpainted conversions before (at least not without pics of the painted ones) but this seems like the right place to do it.

A customer in the Netherlands asked me to convert a Skaven warlord on a Rat Ogre Bonebreaker (basically a type of Rat Ogre) and a Skaven warlord on a Warlitter (a borne platform). He didn't have any models to convert so I gave him the full package for a fair price within his budget. Some friendly adventurers helped me out with the models: a rat ogre (thanks Mason!) a metal warlord and four Stormvermin (thanks eastern barbarian!). The second warlord came from the Isle of Blood set and was purchased on eBay. Here are the parts I used:

I first started work on the Rat Ogre because it seemed like more fun. I repositioned its left arm for a more gorilla-like walking pose, and started cutting away a lot of material from in between the legs of the metal warlord. Quite a chore, but this model was more suitable as a rider than the Isle of Blood one:

I extended the neck of the Rat Ogre to accommodate for the Warlord. Then I sculpted on all the extra detail needed to obscure the joins: fabric from the warlord, fur on the Rat Ogre, a warlord tail grabbing the Rat Ogre by the shoulder for extra support and a head bandage around the Rat Ogres left ear. The finished conversion looks a bit like this (more pics to follow):

With that conversion out of the way I started work on the Warlitter. After some dry fittingof the models I found there was no way I could fit it on a 40x40mm base and make it look good, as I wanted the bearers to be at the side of the platform and not directly under it. I made a custom 60x40mm base and glued on the Stormvermin bodies. I repositioned the arms and hands until they resembled a pose of litter bearers:

After that I built up a litter with wood and a bit of putty and finished the bearer models with more arms and heads, like so:

I didn't really change the Island of Blood warlord to be mounted on top of it except that I cut away the big stone it's standing on, so in the end both warlords turned out like this:

Well, I hope you like it and don't bother visiting speedpainter.nl, it's not there yet ;)
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

They do the job  8)

Not keen on the new rat orges but that's just a personal opinion and not a reflection on what you have done  :)

Could you give the warlord on the rat ogre some sort of saddle with a high back?

cheers
