peking 1900 austro-hungarians and italian navy
« on: July 29, 2011, 04:03:36 PM »
good afternoon,

while painting bits and ends i found that i still needed to paint some austro-hungarians ( box 6,7 + bo 60-69) ) and italian naval (box 8 + bo 70-79 ) from redoubt boxer range

http://www.redoubtenterprises.com/shop/?page=shop/browse&category_id=973ac7643bd2a92ac769ea9dae877bde

http://www.redoubtenterprises.com/shop/?page=shop/browse&category_id=6f308d1a1b435ff06d968474086fc7a6

http://www.redoubtenterprises.com/shop/?page=shop/browse&category_id=26d171e7c6f2483c5d4b7097b53cc8a6

so i started looking for some advice on the uniforms

osprey has a naval austro-hungarian on plate B in men-at-arms 95 the boxer rebellion

for the austro-hungarians i also looked http://www.germancolonialuniforms.co.uk/

as for the italians i found some uniforms here

http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/other_photographs1.htm

but did find something more intresting on

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=1548

the review is very good, the range on boxer rebellion from redbox is very extended as are the comments

too bad those plastic figurines did not exsist when i was a boy, could have been heston ;-)

also look at the comment:

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1540 on the russian sailors uniform, they even correct osprey

be aware do not look to the other plasticsoldiersreviews there is danger of nostalgia ;-

more painting or uniform tips are always welcome

thx for looking

Having just completed collecting my Boxer figures - in 15 mm - this information should come in quite handy.  Thanks for posting it.  Now if I can only remember where it is when I get around to actually painting the figures; they are the back of the line for now.
