;->= Just teasing, Deaf, ol' bean. True about the site. Not a Morheim player, but the scenery is worthy of viewing, whatever your preference.

Truly, as well, your lads are crazy joy.

I put together a step by step tutorial on how I paint my Freikorps. The tutorial focuses on the "grunts" but the same steps are used for the specialist models as well.

The flamethrower armed specialist has been painted, only one trapper left to paint so expect a group picture of the 9 model crew tomorrow. More pictures from different angles on my blog:

Finally completed the crew. 9 models in total. They will also get their baptism of fire this afternoon against the Guild so we'll see how that goes.

More pictures on my blog as usual

Very nicely done. I'm going to have to invest in a starter box of these at some point...  ::)

I think the Freikorps starter is one of very few starter boxes that is actually playable and balanced straight out of the box. You get all the Freikorps units + von Schill in the starter, that is 2 grunts, 3 specialists and a master. Compared to other starters like the Resurrectionists have for McMourning/Nicodem/Seamus you actually get a 26 Souls stone force that has some value to it.

What these guys lack is hard hitting close combat abilities, that will be the main weakness unless some other Outcast brawler unit is included. But I want to keep them "pure Freikorps" and go for a thematic crew rather than a gamey one with this faction. I also don't want to expand with other models simply because I don't think there is anything else in the range that would really fit with the look of the sci -fi/steampunk/anime sculpts of the Freikorps.

Got my set today!

I was surprised to see that they were all single-piece models (apart from the specialist's fuel tanks). Less glue=more fun!

Thats a nice looking Freikorps unit right there. Colour scheme works really well, and I could be tempted if I wasn't faced with the Leviticus box sitting there waiting for work.
