Argonor's CROM! Project: Link to AAR Part FOUR added
« on: August 11, 2011, 06:42:56 PM »
Decided to try out Matakishi's new ruleset.

I'll mostly track it on my - not yet very extensive - blog:

http://argonor-wargames.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

I'll also post som in-game pics here, but most of the action will be at the blog - easier to post pics there, and threads become easily buried 'round here these days because of the tremendous activity.  :)

EDITS:
Part One: http://argonor-wargames.blogspot.com/2011/08/crom-rise-of-mummy-king-part-one.html
Part Two: http://argonor-wargames.blogspot.com/2011/08/crom-rise-of-mummy-king-part-two.html
Part Three: http://argonor-wargames.blogspot.com/2011/09/crom-rise-of-mummy-king-part-three.html

Short update - but at least an update:
Part Four: http://argonor-wargames.blogspot.com/2011/10/crom-rise-of-mummy-king-part-4.html

Heh - thought it better to make my own records than keep spamming your thread with my progress  lol

I'll be posting link to the blog on my club forum, too - maybe you'll get some new guys hitting your site  ;)

If you're still playing "Name That Elf" Arg', you may find this helpful/inspirational...:

It's actually this one:

Not originally a wardancer, but later listed as such in some catalogue I had.

Have some more from Elf-1 page...

One of my personal favorites (I think I used that figure as a Druchii Anointed back when the Dark Elf Cult of Slaanesh was in force for the Storm of Chaos...).

Your idea on cards echoes mine. I have some new examples and some blank templates which I'll be uploading tonight.

edit Here you go, the others are on my Conan thread and on the site, full set to follow.

Interesting.. I'll have to go look through the stuff again. For now, I'll just stick with the versions I have made some of already; need to get them ready for Sunday (I think/hope).

Almost done, now.

Spent most of Sunday afternoon in the rain, doing some serious tidying up in the garden, but I expect to get the first handful of cards cut, glued, and laminated this evening.

Don't get me wrong; gardening is a nice passtime, but when it is pouring down so badly that the creek bordering our property is almost swelling out of its bed, and even my wool Stetson gets soaked, it's really a drag...  :?

So, cards finally finished. Now, let's see if I can get someone to play with me tomorrow...  ::)

Scanned examples at my blog: http://argonor-wargames.blogspot.com/2011/08/crom-cards-finished.html

Will be watching your project on your blog with interest, Argonor.
Found the bit about cardmaking useful too, as I am considering using this system for my VSF skirmish to randomise activation each turn.
Thanks,
Paul.

For 'how-to-make-cards' better have a look at Matakishi's own site.

Assembling the cards in MS-Word is not a good solution, btw... The pictures lose too much quality and the end result is a bit pixelated. However, I couldn't figure out how to print more than one card per page without doing so...    :?

Paper is not THAT expensive, but it seems such a waste to use only 1/3 of a sheet....

Regarding random activation: I'm in 2 minds about that; it gives an unpredictability that somewhat simulates the 'fog-of-war' , but on the other hand, sometimes one side/faction is completely annihilated because their turn seem to come up last every time...

I like it better than IGOUGO, though.

Thanks for offering, but I'm fine - I prefer having pics of the actual minis for easy reckognition. I just have to find a better printing solution for future cards - I can easily assemble the cards in GIMP, and then probably just print one card (pic) per page... should do the trick  o_o

I print mine on the Windows standard setting of 'wallet' which puts 9 on a page. Not perfect but adequate.
