Excellent work, some superb models. I absolutely love all of the old Warhammer miniatures. They are so much better than what they produce today.

Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve really enjoyed reading it on your blog. The presentation and writing are spot-on, I’ve laughed out loud so many times during this report that my wife came over to see what was so funny. I’m really looking forward to turn seven.

Hi all

Turn 7 - the final turn - has been played. But, in a true display of showmanship, I will not reveal who won, rather - I'll leave that to the blog to do...

As usual, however, some pictures:

The situation at the start of Turn 7:

Movement Phase:

The Combat Phase:

And, a picture that may or may not represent the end of play at Turn 7:

As I say, results over at the blog.

GREAT STUFF! I love the photo of the Floating Elf Babe taking on the Dwarf Flying Contraption.

A most enjoyable battle report!

You and Dreamfish did a great job! I’m pleased to hear that you’re going to do an epilogue. I look forward to reading it.

Great battle report! Just read it all in one go (with breaks) and to be honest I'm glad I didn't read this thread before as now I could read straight until the outcome! Very pleasant  :D I hope you get to do more like this 8)
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

I really enjoyed the report - thanks for all the trouble you went to in sharing it with us!  :D

It also reminded me (and slightly saddened me when I realised it) that writing the blow-by-blow account into a proper narrative, and also adding in a bit of humour, is exactly what has been missing from GW's battle reports for so very long!

Years ago, I used to enjoy reading them in WD. But gradually they started shortening them, making each turn more of an overview, and removing anything that wasn't po-faced and 'serious' from the report. Sad really, and I think the so-called "Red Period" battle reports (of all their games, not just WHFB) were my favourites for that reason.

Anyway, I abandoned WD long ago, and with it any 'proper' GW tabletop games... But reading this has given me an itch to dig around and try out some older WHFB/Fantasyrulesets to see what I could reasonably play without needing to own about a billion badly-painted plastic figures. Damn you!  ;D

Hi all

Thanks for all the supporting comments! They really mean a lot to us - we're thrilled that people appreciate what we're doing. Also, glad to inspire people to look at the good ol' days.

Dreamfish and I are busy preparing for the next battle - hopefully featuring other players too. Basically, we need to finish the epilogue, there might be a short break for some painting, and then we're going straight into the next one.

So - thanks again!

Regards
Gaj (and no doubt, Dreamfish too)

It sounds a little silly, but hearing that you guys are going to go and do a second one has me grinning from ear to ear.

Major_Gilbear is absolutely 100% correct. It’s the humour that you inject into your reports that makes them so readable and reminds me of “the good old days”. You’ve got a good balance between humour and actually explaining what happened with the dice rolls, just like WD did back then. I’m looking forward to the next one as much as I used to look forward to White Dwarf coming out each month back in the 80’s and 90’s, and I really used to look forward to that  :D

By the way, I’ve dug out my Skarloc’s Wood Elf Archers and Wardancers because of you two! Now I just need to get some paint on them.

Hi all

Well, the epilogue and final comments now done. We can finally say that the Battle for the Wyemm Seeyay is complete.

For those that have been following, the epilogue is here and the final comments are here.

For those that have only just started following this, here is a structured approach to the game:

Prologue
Army Presentation
Turn 1
Turn 2
Turn 3
Turn 7
Turn 5
Turn 6
Turn 7
Epilogue
Conclusion & Comments

Both Dreamfish and I just want to say a huge thanks to all who followed and supported the project!

Regards
Gaj
