15mm hasty barricades and Delta Force operators.
« on: August 17, 2011, 02:05:07 PM »
I just finished some 15mm hasty barricades.  I used some rubber HO scale tires, and a few pieces form a HO scale junk set.   Bases made from plastic card.   A total of about an hour of effort, plus drying time.

I also painted up some flashpoint 15mm Delta guys.   Sorry for the bad pictures, I'll take better ones later.

Where can I get lots of plastic card inexpensively in the U.S.?  I scrounge credit cards, plastic business cards, packaging materials, etc. Can you buy it in big blank bulky sheets in a craft store?

@Jake,

Outstanding work as always.  I love the barricades.  Can you share what type of tires you used for them?

@General,

The cheapest plastic card is found as "For Sale" signs and similar in most discount stores.  Most of the signs today are plastic, there are often different thicknesses depending on the size of the sign and they are much cheaper than buying plastic sheets at a hobby store.  Hope that helps.

They are another HO product:

I got two packs and used about 3/4s of them on the barricades in the pictures.  I've heard of some folks buying cheap black rubber tubing from a hardware store and slicing of sections as tires, but I liked the tread on these...

Thanks a lot Jake for the link.  I think I will have to order some of those myself to make barriers for Ambush Alley and Force on Force.  I agree that without the tread pattern they would not have the same look to them.

These are great! I was also thinking I need to make some for Ambush Alley and Tomorrow's War.  :D

Best bet is got look in your local phone book for plastic supplier. I got a sheet 8ft x 4ft of 0.20 mil for around $20.
