Victory Decision: Weird War Two
« on: August 19, 2011, 03:30:39 PM »
Hello!

I have just decided to take the plunge into Weird War Two and am looking for Rules.  I was looking into WaW, when I found the adverts for the new ViDe.

Before I take the plunge, I have a couple of questions that need to be answered:

1)  What sort of dice are used as the primary dice (D6's?)
2)  Are there any lists that include Mid War Gebirgsjager/Fallschirmjager? ( I like Eastern Front(mid war) and western Europe (late war)
3)  Is there anyway to buy the rules and all source books at a discount?
4)  How far away is the Weird War Supplement?
5)  How well does the game model infantry action?  I am looking for a game at the level of about reinforced company.  So HQ, 3 Inf Platoons, a couple of support platoons, 2-6 AFV's, a few walkers, some weird stuff in 15 mm, on a 180 cm x 120 cm table.  Is this the right rule set?
6)  Any fan based sites?

Any one else started the process of doing their own lists/mods for weird war?

Regards,

~Cory

Hi, some answers below:
1 - mostly D6 with the occasional D10 for heavier weapon effects.
2 - not at the moment, but Fallschirmjäger are already in development (see: http://www.adpublishing.de/html/a_d__publishing.html)
3 - You mean like all Victory Decision ebooks together? Not yet... I am thinking about Nation specific bundles at a later point...
4 - I am aiming at a Gear Krieg and a generic weird war book for the end of 2011 or early 2012. I want to finish the US, British and Soviet Technical Manuals 1st.
5 - Spot on! I could not describe the scope of Victory Decision better!  :) Maybe download the free Victory Decision: World War II - Quick Reference Sheet for a first impression (http://www.adpublishing.de/html/downloads1.html
6 - and beyond - no clue right now... ???
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

BTW: If your German is good enough, there is a very in depth Victory Decision review on the German Sweetwater Forum:
