Leadwood at Call to Arms 2011, Wellington NZ
« on: August 22, 2011, 07:59:23 AM »
A big thanks to everyone who came along and said hello at Call to Arms this weekend. It was great to get so many enthusiastic players and to put faces to internet-names!

I've posted a little about my days at the convention on my blog.

It was great – planning something even bigger for next year!

All the best.

Hi Joe, thanks for letting me play on your fantastic terrain it was great fun. I wanted to come back on Sunday to take a few photos but other things happened.

I see you managed to capture on film my most successful action of the game. Pedro ran down main street, fired at a Lawman in the back with seven shots and missed. He was then hit twice and lay on the road for the rest of the game. Another figure moved 4 inches the entire game and had about five rounds of hand to hand with a Frenchman who dispatched him. The third moved about an inch, failed to kill off Wahine who was laying in the road defenseless and he was also killed off in short order.
Maybe I wont be painting my Mexicans after that experience  lol

All good fun which made me go home and buy the rules. It plays a lot different to LoTOW but I guess we were just using the basic rules.

Dan.

Shame you didn't make it on Sunday, Dan. We got a lot more ambtious - the entire civilian population was on the table...

Mayhem!

And you'll perhaps be pleased to note that Mexicans seem to fight better on a Sunday... Santa Maria!

Call to Arms is held annually in late August.  There is also a ValleyCon held bu the Hutt club as well as a smei-regular NapCon by the same hosts.  Quite an active scene here.
