New MuttonChop WIPs
« on: August 22, 2011, 03:37:37 PM »
Evening Ladies and Gents.

Tonight I bring you some work in progress from the Mutton Chop shop.
First of is the AVBCW fictional 'Austin Tilly public order control car' or for the more revolutionary types 'The peoples armoured car!'.

Pattern made by Ian Crouch of BEF miniatures fame. It is a re-working of one of his conventional Tillys.

Next up the start of the Weasel command. Two rather savage looking individuals using the latest SMGs. One has taken his pet weasel to war!.

Not sure when these will be out I need to do work on them all before they are released.

Paul

Great stuff, Paul.
The standard of the whole range is phenomenal!

Love the weasel. Nice touch.

Tillies didn't exist prior to World War Two. You have caused a temporal anomaly with your talented sculpting/scratch-building. ;)

I know, I know. It's just pretend, VSF, Weird World War Two, VBCW.

The Austin 'Tilly' used the same chassis as the Austin 10 Saloon of 1937 iirc. All other differences were either not visible or would be obscured by the stripping down of the bodywork to create the fighting compartment... The Tilly itself was produced from 1939. Not that big a leap surely?  ;)

Whether it would be able to keep up with the Croydon Crusher in a race is another matter entirely... an 1125cc engine versus all that boiler plate... mmhm  :?

Yeah, just say it is an armoured car based on an Austin 10 rather than a Tilly and there is no distortion of the time-stream.   :)

But on another note are we certain that's an Austin? Looks like a Standard to me. Austins had three big fat vertical vents on the side engine panels, not little horizontal ones like that, which the Standard did have.*

*I do apologise, I grew up in an isolated commune of Tilly enthusiasts. It seems to have er... affected me somehow.

I suppose we should be grateful that they are engaged in this learned discussion rather than robbing a plasma from Curry's.

Thanks chaps, btw which one of you is the 1937 version of James May?
