Utterly stunning work. Very very jealous
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Can't speak for Frank obviously, but looking at what I have in my paint supply and comparing that with the pictures of Frank's beautiful work I'm thinking Iraqi Sand, Tan Earth, Cork Brown, maybe Ivory or Offwhite and possibly Flat Earth for the camels.

Just stumbled across this thread and all I can say is Abso-bloody-lutely stunning!

 :-* :-* :-*

As for 'what colours did you use' etc... I have a feeling that you could give Frank 'mud-on-a-stick' and he would pull off something amazing!

He can make miracles with mud on a stick but I can't.  I'd really like to know how he does it so I can try practicing his style.  I'm in a bit of a painting rut and need to try imitating The Masters.

We can call this one "Still Life With Camels".  :)

Ridiculously good.

The grey is really tricky.

Finally...here is the short tutorial I promised to you. The first picture is showing a camel with an averge colouring. Usually they have a darker upper part and a lighter belly. In the next picture you can see how I have used the basic colours „dark sand“ and „green ochre“ with some „chocolade brown“ for the upper part and dark shadows. The next step is to lay a wash of "Devlan Mud“ over the whole miniature. Last step and the costliest part is now to paint several layers of highlights.

Nice.  I think it's the feathering of the highlights that really makes it work, bringing out the fur.
Back from the dead, almost.

That is a GREAT look. Mind if I snip this part out and put it in How to...?
