Yes, yours is a good idea.  In fact a few LAFers have done similar things for other game systems and periods and the results have been rather appealing. The only tiny flaw in the concept is that it makes no allowance for the fact that I am a lazy oaf.

If George VI and the Queen Mum-to-be could join in with an "Oi!" or two during "The Lambeth Walk" (at a stage performance of "Me and My Girl", in May 1939), it's good enough for me.

Ah, Pearly Kings and Queens. I've often wanted to do a Pal's Battalion of Pearly Kings (surely there must have been one, and they wouldn't have been able to resist sewing sparkly buttons on their service dress), just so I can machine gun the buggers down.
