Jungle River Packet
« on: 01 September 2011, 10:22:52 PM »
I had a hankering to do a jungle paddle steamer, and spent the past couple of days working on it.  It's still absent a bridge and stairs, but otherwise I'm quite pleased with how it's come along.

On my blog I show both the uncovered bottom deck with boiler as well as the assembled upper deck, along with notes on what everything was made from:

Hope it gives folks ideas!
Check out THE CROGAN ADVENTURES, a historical adventure graphic novel series available from your local bookstore or comic shop (or, of course, Amazon).  I make 'em.

A lovely looking steamer. The colour and wood is really effective!

lovely!!! great weathering effects, especially on the engine, chimney and boiler. I'd feel a little exposed crewing that top deck though :)

From the detail and complexity of the steam engine, I suspect you know quite a bit about steam-powered vehicles.  Did you, perhaps, previously launch powered model steamboats??

A beautiful piece of work, with a definite personality already. It looks the epitome of the kind of hard-working paddle steamer found in Africa. I can't wait to see it finished!  :-*

Bezzo, I did not see your message. I just looked at the boat and posted. Testament to the build and paint job I think that it evoked the same response.

Come on lads, there's no need for this. It's hardly worth getting in a tizz over, is it?
