Alas (from Monoliths' latest newsflash) ....
As promised in our last update on production, we FINALLY have a date back from the factory and it’s sadly even worse than the one they gave us previously.
As it stands, the official planning shows that the King and Barbarian pledges will be ready to go by the end of June with the Stretch goals flowing behind mid july. This should leave us with everything on the water by late July, meaning that they should be arriving at hub around the end of September, leaving shipping to begin in October.
This is the planning for the 1st Wave. The second wave (add-ons, campaign, expansions) will be the next on the block and we will let you know as soon as we have fixed dates.
Thank you all for your patience in this matter, we know the constant delays are a huge frustration to many and apologize again for these setbacks. We are more than aware of the damage this is doing to the reputation of not only Monolith but the Conan project. When we set out, we wanted to run an exemplary campaign and whilst the Kickstarter itself was a great success, we seem to have been bogged down with issues one after another. Some of these were indeed out of our control, however, a lot of them also come with inexperience and, well, being over ambitious. The latest setback was actually caused by the rulebook. Our friends at Fantasy Flight Games have been helping us rewrite these after the first pass wasn’t satisfactory. They ended up rewriting a lot of the book and this process took over two months and we then had to translate everything back into French.
These aren’t exactly mistakes we care to repeat in the future, however, such words are wind. Our main objective is to get Conan finished out as soon as possible and worry about the fallout from our mistakes later. We have also hired another assistant recently to further speed the project along, although we recognize that this is too little, too late, to regain lost time. It will however allow us to ensure that this phase, now that it is in place, will go as smoothly as possible.
Our sincerest apologies once again. Some of you may be feeling let down or even cheated by the added waiting time, but rest assured that our goal is still to produce the best game possible.
Monolith.
