I am very impressed with the Officers and command figures assaulting.  When will they be made available for sale.  I'm even willing to take my chances with Moneybrokers, will they deliver to the U.S.?

I still can not give exact release dates of the officers and the attacking team. The figures have suffered in transit, and require recovery.

Buyers from the U.S. for some reason do not enjoy Skrill/Moneybookers. I can not give a reason - perhaps it's not very "friendly" system of payment to buyers from the U.S. ...

If anyone has wishes of any "heroes" to be portrayed in the rabble, please say so, and it will be taken into consideration.
The following I have asked for:
Arthur Scargill
Mr and Mrs Kinnock
Commissar Barroso
and of course the more or less "Lady" Ashton.
Herman van Rompuy is not worth a figure.
The Danish premier as flag waving communist.
Little Sarkozy as revolution opportinist is also an obvious choice.
Erdogan has been asked for as representative for the Ukrainian tartars.
but I am sure members of this forum have their own favorites to be portrayed.
The series is meant to have a good shooting gallery for gamers.

How about former EU Commission President Prodi as naive idealist fellow traveller, ready to be done in by the hard core revolutionaries when push comes to shove? And crass Berlusconi as epithome of the capitalist class soon to be swept in the dustbin of history?

More seriously, how about the Italian legion which fought in the Far East? Colonel Cosma Manera, of the Royal Carabinieri, travelled far and wide in the Revolution and the civil war to escort to Vladivostok all the Italian-born Austrian POWs, in order to bring them home and fight on the Italian front (http://www.carabinieri.it/Internet/Arma/Oggi/Missioni/1855+-+1935/1918+-+1920/). Eventually some of them were formed into a number of units who got involved in some fighting - alongside the Czechs - around Valdivostok and somewhere else in Siberia: Have a look:  1) http://www.trentinocultura.net/doc/radici/storia/grande_guerra/prigionieri_h.asp

For the moment the project with the red rabble and fellow travellers seems to be on halt, as I have not heard from the sculptor for a period.

For Italians in Russia, I guess you can use late WW! Italians, even if they in Russia mostly used English weapons.
The story about the Trentinos in Russia is interesting, but if you read other literature on them, you will soon see, savage fighting was not what they did most.
In reality it is rather dirty story, the Italians pressuring the former Austrian soldiers into war-time service in RCW, as they - like so many Western countries - did not want to send regular troops to fight in the RCW.
Some of the former prisoners (about 30 I think) did not want to join the fighting legion - and were then given over to the Chinese,  since never to be heard from.
The Italians dying in Russia, died not from enemy fire, but different illnesses and one blowing himself up with a hand-grenade by accident.
The most interesting Italian person on the scene is the charismatic and ingenious Andrea Compatangelo, leader of The Irregular Brigate Savoia - the ”Irregular” Battalion Savoia. A real Pulp fiction figure from real life.
I hope, he enjoyed the funds, he "took possession" of in the city of Krasnoyarsk, and it would be interesting to hear about, what he and the Carabinieri Colonel "debated", after which Compatangelo disappeared spuriously from history, possibly and hopefully a very rich man.
A figure of Andrea Compatangelo could be a good idea, just to honor him and his freebooter spirit.
If interested, I can send you some pictures of Italians in Russia and an unfinished text meant fo the Forum of Siberian Miniatures on the Italians in Russia.

Italians once fought against the Red partisans in Siberia.
In battle, killing two soldiers: Romano Gadotti and Giorgio Zanei - killed in action on the river Mana June 12, 1919

It was a joint operation by the Kolchak forces and interventionists  to defeat the partisans republic (uniting several villages).

In this battle, distinguished Italian mountain artillery.

Please send everything you have. I have myself a book on the story and some docs from the Army historical office - in Siberia they fought several battles, not just one. And Compatangelo at one time set up his own armored train à la Czech legion, together with other 300 soldiers he picked up here and there - a real character!

While some might not have been willing to fight - and I am sure this was not an exclusively Italian problem - I would not use the word "pressure" for what Colonel Manera did, as he was basically there by himself, and I find it hard to believe he could "pressure" anyone to do anything! More problems arose when they arrived in Vladivostok, as they were expecting finally to be shipped home and they were instead asked to stay and fight....

One suggestion: learn the russian (cyrillic) letters as I did long ago; it's not very difficult, and even without any knowing of the russian langage, when you see something written in russian you'll understand much more things than if you don't know how to read it!

Thanks! The reason why I have not done so yet is that I read greek (I took it at the lycée) and I have been lazy enough to think that I can get away with most Russian letters thanks to that - which is obviously only partially true...

Working on a series of figures ”Assault on the Manor”  continues ...
In rebel detachment recruitment:

The boy - the name Gavrik (from Gavrila (Gabriel)).
Here such Gavrik also got Russia in "strange lands of Revolution")))).
This boy appeared before at village fairs with his tame bear.
The kid with a bear - a sign figure)).... "young revolution conducts on a rope the old mother Russia in the unknown future"))...

Barroso and Scargill - two fighters with a banner...

Mr. Barroso - in Ukraine is the politician - the socialist mr. Moroz (if to translate literally - a frost)). And so Barroso - will be Borroz :)))). "are you felt the" frozen socialism "from Moroz-Borroz???

Mr. Skargill - receives name - Skargillo (in Ukraine after population census in the 19th century, many received the termination "O" on the end of the his surnames). Generally here the trick in itself))) In Ukrainian language the word "skarzhiticia" - is translated as to "complain". Mr. Skargill at me turned out with the person eternally frightened and the person who complains of everything :)))))))))) - real employee of trade union))

The smith - the simple man with a hammer, I think it hardly the malicious... simply got used ground to beat)) Behind on a belt, ready horseshoes for a horse hang... probably for "fortunately".
