ECW Swordsmen
« on: September 16, 2011, 05:02:31 PM »
I am looking for ECW, either models or arm sprues with predominately swords of the period.

Anyone know where I can get some?

I have looked at the warlord games stuff and the infantry can provide the bodies, I just need some arms! The command sprue contains the sort of thing, but is a costly way to do it as I would want probably 40 models once I have finished.

Any thought would be appreciated
 :)
Saving the last bullet... just in case.

See my wonderful BLOG of stuff!

How about figures from Redoubt's 4 Musketeer range?
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Or Brigade Games' Musketeers range. They are sculpted by Paul Hicks and smaller than Redoubt.

I put together several of the pikemen from that set as swordsmen by removing the pikes and adding flattened brass rod for the swords as well as converting the pistol hands to swords in the same way. The simple S shaped guard and baskets of the hilts are easily done with green stuff.

When I really mangled something I'd give the model a buckler as well to cover.

I like my games like my orange juice: pulpy with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners
