pilot figure .suggestions wanted
« on: September 12, 2011, 06:56:43 PM »
hi
can anyone suggest a preferably plastic ,heroic 28mm figure that can be used as a seated helicopter pilot?  The helicopter and pilot will mostly be used in Zombie games.

many thanks

Copplestone makes seated pilots (1/2 figures) in his High Adventure Range, maybe a standing pilot or two as well.
Old Glory has pilots for each Nationality in their WWI Range.

thanks for the suggestion. i do have some of the Coplestone pilots. They're very nice but too 'pulpy' to be modern helicopter pilots.
I think the Old Glory ones would be too small as they are 25mm and i nee big 28mm

thanks

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

We've got a couple, as well as standing versions:
SPRU 19 and 20, male and female versions each with a couple of variant heads

Close up painted (need to take new shots for the site though):

Here in the background you can see them sitting in the plastic cockpit section of a 1/64 Heli we found at toys r us:

Dexter,
Sorry, I didn't read your request correctly!  Try looking for the Britannia 28mm Mogadishu Range of figures.  I am sure there are seated and active pilots in that range.  Now sure who is carrying the range now though, since Dave's passing. Aslo take a look at the Gripping Beast MoFo range.

Try Lead Bones' SPRU helicopter pilots, male and female.  They can be found at www.recreationalconflict.com

Vietnam pilots from Baker Company :

They can be used as modern miniatures for zombies games.
I wish I were an octopus to paint more miniatures...Cthulhu must be a great painter

If you need a standing pilot for any scenarios with a downed helicopter, then there is an excellent figure, carrying his helmet and wielding a pistol also available from TAG in their free miniatures promotion (look under Vietnam, American, Downed pilot).
