Etranger or archangel1 or whomever, the pilot figure in the bi-plane is wearing very pre-W.W II head-gear. I understand that it is not clear that the Hess company is producing authentic vehicle reproductions, but would a pilot in the 50's or 60's be wearing that type of head-gear? I'm thinking that given its an open cockpit (a throwback to an earlier time) maybe a pilot of such a plane in the 50's or 60's might wear the earlier head-gear for fun rather than practical reasons. Is that too much of a stretch or is it more likely that this links the truck and plane to an earlier period? Just spitballing ideas... Richard
