Indian walled village 15mm
« on: September 16, 2011, 02:00:48 PM »
I made this for 18th century Mughal v. East India Company conflicts. However it would work in other eras. Everything is balsa covered in filler. The buildings are simply balsa blocks. The crops are doormat cut in strips, the trees are cake decorations. The shopkeeper was used to selling them at 2 or 3 at a time. I asked her for the whole box. Her face was a picture! Please note - these shots are just a set up to show the village not a game.

Easy to make, and cheap - that's MY kind of scenery.

That is very, very cool. Speaking as someone about to start 15mm colonials, your stuff is an inspiration. Keep it up!

Very nicely done.  Must have a go at that.

Excellent work - I have some of those trees myself - they come up a treat with a light drybrusing on the leaves.

Answer

I still have some trees left. A box contains a lot! I have based about 100. If you want some PM me and I'll send them off. We need to encourage young blood.  :)

That's very kind of you, but I am myself currently inundated with plastic foliage. Got to buy as much as you can when you see it, just in case they stop selling it soon…  lol

Fine Answer is 42

You realise this was a no charge offer? Just sharing the wealth?

Yes, I know. Really, I'm fine. Goodness, this is such a friendly place sometimes!  :D  lol

You need to see a doctor for that, Pete.

Bezzo, I could use some of that for my 15mm Indian Mutiny if you let me know cost and postage. Thanks, John

I like it  :)

Although the exposed brickwork slightly jars with my architectural tastes, it does work. I looks like something out of a 1950's/60's comic serial (absolutely no offense whatsoever intended by that statement  :) ).

Very nice.
Like the buildings inside the walls.
Did you make them so they may be moved around?

Hi Bezzo, very nice but I also thing the exposed brickwork is just a little too jarring. All the same, I wish I had one of those!
