Sounds like you guys stretched the rules to their limit and had a great time!  That's really good to hear.  I'm currently organizing my old figures into retinues and converting some new additions.

They stretched, but did not break.

Hi there BaronVonJ,

You know when we wrote these rules we figured they might just stretch to two players, each with 4-10 figures. You're not the first to find that it can handle more players than two, but the range of forces you employed certainly sets a new record - awesome  :D

If you don't mind I'm going to link your AAR on the new Forge of War forum - http://www.forgeofwar.uk.com/forum/. I'm sure the development team will be really gratified to see people enjoying these rules.

If there are any things that didn't work quite right or you think could be done better let us know. We 're currently gathering in play test information so we can make ItEN even better.

We're also working on a Generic Sci-Fi version, with full rules on how to design and cost your own forces (as well as a load of retinues from well known SF films, books and TV series.

Cheers,
Craig.

I know you wrote these with building retinues in mind so everything is broke out so you can customize as much as possible. What would be great is a) add more example pre-made groups and b) give me already "pointed out" lists. So, instead of me adding up my Average Joe Imperial Guardsman (Grit+FV+SV+Speed+Armor+Weapons= whatever) every time. It would be nice if I could just look and see a Guardsmen with flak armor and a lasgun costs 17pts.

BaronVonJ, you might want to take a look at the random enemey generators in the Campaign section. You don't have to actually use the generator, but there are sample, statted entries for almost all models from all retinues, with standard equipment and point cost. :)

A figure with the Leader attribute can act as the leader of his/her own retinue.

But that's it? Since there's not really a group morale mechanic, a leader just leads a group. No special rules?

Not unless you'd like to write some?   ;)

I can try. I can see Marines fighting to the last man, but your average Guardsman, not so much.
