Thanks for the comp, very helpful.
You're welcome. I'm afraid I can't help with the other companies...  :(

If you haven't already you should check out:

They are very nice and in fitting with what you are doing, and there's a scale pic of them with Perry's and the fit very well.

Kingmaker has great figures, that's beyond question.
Nevertheless there's something odd about their proportions which I personally don't like, although I have seen some great armies using them and Perry's side by side... Thanks anyway!

I wish I'd known about the BTD Averaign figures when I ordered last week. I've been looking at Bretonnian figures on Ebay for some character figures. Oh well looks like another order for them. :D

I really hope that this doesn't seem like I'm stealing your thunder but I really like what you've been doing and wanted to show you what you've inspired me to do.

The figure is from BTD. I'm sure you can work out which House he represents, took a bit of license with the heraldry though. When (if) I get a few painted up I'll start up my own thread, this is just in case I don't.

:-* Great work, those BTD Not-Bretonnians kick ass. Keep them coming. The Riverlords are strong allies!

Don't worry about using this thread. I really like what you have done with this figure and feel honoured having inspired you to do so!

I just found this and thought it was really cool and figured that this might be a good place to share it.

The map of Other-in-Law is indeed a great source of inspiration...

For those of you, who wanted to use some Dark Sword Miniatures:

The Mountain is a beast. He looks way taller than the 8 feet described in the books. Maybe it would work if I base him as a monster...

The young Robert is quite nice... I plan to use him in a cavalery unit, his horse just shot beneath him and now pushing forward on foot. I hope his size won't stand out that much between the horses.

Wow! The Mountain really is huge! Very nice sculpts but slightly too large for what I have in mind and I don't really fancy shelling out that much money tbh, as nice as they are.

I've got another comp shot for you. I've been spending lots of money on ebay and these came through this morning and I thought that they might interest you.

Another range with some gorgeous figures that I would happily mix in. They stand slightly taller than the Brettonian but I don't think it's all that noticeable, especially when based.

Sorry for beeing unavailable for such a long time... Real life got me and wouldn't let me catch a glimpse of my miniatures...

I like the Front Rank range a lot! Thanks for sharing! Would you mind if I post your comparison pictures in my blog? I know a bunch of guys with HYW projects who might be interested.

I was a bit busy last days but found some time to paint a new miniature:
Ser Gregor Clegane, the Mountain that rides. As I already said, the sculpt is way too big to use him alongside the other infantry men, but based on a monster base he does a decent job, bringing some fear and confusion to the battlefield.

Ser Gregor looks awesome, it's a shame about the scale difference as the figures really are superb.
Feel free to use my scale pics, that's what they're there for.

Thanks guys!
That was the motivation I needed for going on. I will bring these figures to Kauzenburg 2012 this weekend, where I hope to see some action against and alongside other Medieval Impetus armies. I still needed a commander. Until now...

I just finished Robert Baratheon at the time of the Battle of Ruby Ford!

Finarfin...

I've enjoyed looking at your blog.  I too have painted up a few Dark Sword GRRM miniatures.  I love them and the books.  I've been pulp wargaming many years but have only recently shifted my interest to Ice and Fire/medevial miniatures.  I've painted up Bronn, Rattleshirt, Jon Snow, Theon Greyjoy, a nameless Hedgeknight and am in the process of basing and painting (The Hound, Euron Greyjoy, and Brienne).  I'll try to take some pics and post them along with some terrain I've constructed.

I was about to purchase some archers and crossbowmen from Gripping Beast to round out a battleforce.  I am concearned about the size comparisons but I'll deal with them.  Dark Sword makes great minis but they are too expensive to be my only source.  They also don't have any crossbowmen.

Finarfin, the stag design on Roberts steed and the lannister lion are wonderful!  I've failed at numerous banner designs on shields already.  I'd love to know any tips or tricks you use.  Did you pencil scetch them shape, freehand paint them, or use tranfers?  Did you paint the emblem design stright onto the tunics?  I've been miniature painting for a decade but I'm new to trying to paint emblems on shields and tunics.
