WW1, WW2 and Weird War 2 showcase updates
« on: November 18, 2007, 08:14:08 PM »
For those it might concern, there have been a few updates to the following showcases:

1. WW1: some new ranges added.

2. Historical WW2: Updates to Germans, Brits, Russians and civilians.

3. Weird WW2: Major update by dividing it up into the various nationalities as with the historical WW2 showcases and adding the occasional new range. Now has German, Russian, US, UK and Japan subpages. The Weird Japan showcase is all new (and a bit of a cheat really   ).

I know a few people on the Nobel Prize comittee and I am going to see what I can do to add a new category for next year: "The Lead Price to the Memory of Alfred Nobel: for groundbreaking research for the advancement of miniature gaming".

I hope you own a set of black tails, whiteknight. King Carl XVI Gustaf like a bit of polish for these occasions.

An excellent reference point for WW2/Weird War.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to produce it, I have the Weird War stuff book-marked.

With all the recent inspiring posts on this forum, I've included a small "Amazing Weapons of Weird WW2" page to the Weird War 2 showcase.

Won't hold many surprises to the members of his forum and you'll see some familiar sightings for sure...

Edit: cleaned up some of the weird white spaces around the SOTTR pictures.

Edit 2: added another entry after some hesitation: Maschinen Krieger

So White Knight, you're the one who does the showcases?  Thank you!  They're a fantastic resource.

I was wondering... have you thought about doing a pulp sci-fi one?  I need help!

Hi, WK,

I recommend that you add Askari Miniatures to your WWI showcase.  Some of their Zouaves have made an appearance on my early war battlefields.  Their line is constantly expanding, including colonial themed troops from the mid-19th Century up to the beginning of WWII.

Cheers

Will

Yes.  Well... all the ones that say "compiled by the White Knight" anyway. Some of the older ones need a serious update. I'm slowly working on a total revamping and expansion of the norse one into a larger Dark Age one.

I have, but the main thing that stops me is that people's view on what is pulp scifi and what is hard scifi tends to diverge.

Personally, for the retro look, I have models from Wargames Supply Dump (almost hte complete range save the last releases) and Eureka (catgirls and an OOP rocketgirl) which go well together sculpting, size and style wise. I will add the Killer B ones soon as they are thesame scale and style too.
Others I can think of are Hydra, Brigade Games (unreleased yet, join  the yahoo group) and the new Blue Moon stuff. Some more retro stuff can be found in the Superfigs range, especially the henchmen packs.
