Hi from North Carolina, USA
« on: September 19, 2011, 04:56:35 PM »
I'm another lurker from central NC. Mostly a painter of miniatures and a boardgamer, I have long admired this site. Currently, I am very productive writing homebrew games and variant rules for boardgames. My historical period interest is limited to events prior to 1400 AD, but I also dabble in SciFi and fantasy genres.

Hi, Robert, and welcome to the forum.

Where in N. Carolina are you from.  I spent a few years in the Chapel Hill area back in the 1980s.

I live in the Orange County NC seat, Hillsborough. When Chapel Hill residents like John Edwards engage in felonious acts, Hillsborough is the town in which they attend court.  :)

Rather a wargame-rich area by US standards.

I was a grad student at Chapel Hill.  Between UNC, Duke, and NC State there was a rich wargaming community then. too.

Glad to have you on LAF.

Hi from Winston-Salem,  and you're just in time, Southern Front is this weekend at the North Raleigh Hilton!  Best show in NC!  The Raleigh boys play everything from the stone age to 40k and Heavy Gear.  C'ya, Charles
They call me "Point Cow"

I attend Southern Front every year. This one looks especially good. I'm packing armies this morning.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
