Recent fantasy paints
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:24:23 PM »
First up I'm struggling with my new lighting set up so sorry if the pics are rubbish!

Vendel goblin archers, bishbosh first time I've tried tartan.... :P

OW bugbear. He's not really so shiney, bloody light!

Spintered light 15mm goblin, tiny little bugger but lovely B'Olley sculpt.

Orcses of various vintages, these look better in hand I promise.  :?
Anyway that's the last month or so's output.

I like your painting style, Andrew, smooth layers, decent tones, though pretty impressive. Also the orcs do look quite nice for me. Very good job.

I like the palette   8)

What are those Vendels like to paint? Always fancied them for a more 'realistic' fantasy setting.

Yes indeed - don't do yourself down, Andrew, I really like these. The colour range you've chosen makes them look very "real".

Super nice and fast to paint. no fiddly details to worry about, just watch that some troops have seperate weapons that are a pain.

I'm still not sure what to do with the others.
Thanks again though.  ;)

Yes, don't worry, they absolutely look the part. The muted colours give them a somewhat "earthy" appearance, which is great. Only thing maybe to reconsider is the differing height of bases. Personally prefer the flat ones. Other than that, top notch!

WONDERFUL STUFF! You have a MOST IMPRESSIVE technique; part of the attraction for me is that it is such different approach than my own.

I love those Orcs from the early 90's...some of my favorites and something I have just started collecting myself.

your painting is subdued and smooth...very nice!

Really well done.  Nice and clean, and very crisp even in muted colors.
