I like the Mk1 paint station too - there's room for visitors...

I actually use the new paint station from Games Workshop, and I rather like it. It's quite stable when you put it on your lap, mainly because it's sculpted to "wrap" around your legs, instead of being flat on the underside. Of course, if your preferred method of stabilizing your hands when painting is to rest your elbows on a high table, then the paint station is no better than the old one, or the new ones from Warlord Games.

If, however, you usually paint in a comfy chair, like me, and stabilize your hands by pressing your wrist together and/or on the arms of your chair, then the paint station does it's job admirably. It's stable, lightweight, and opposed to the old station actually fit inside normal cupboards.

Ahh....a correction to my original quote...
I think they are marketing the new one to a different market - it is for people who don't own any tables.
I now believe they marketing this to people who own comfy chairs. :D
