Force on Force questions...
« on: September 25, 2011, 09:49:55 AM »
Hi everyone,

Well, I've purchased the rules. While I'm waiting, I wanted to ask a couple of questions...

1) How many figures does this game accommodate for?

2) How does it handle cool gadgets like robot bomb disposal, drones, and other equipment?

Also, I'm having trouble finding AARs for this game, does anyone have any links handy?

Cheers!

http://ambushalleygames.com/forum/ has heaps of AARs.  As has http://www.guildwargamers.com/phpBB3/index.php (you will have to register at the Guild to see them).

Questions;

1) I think it works best at anything up to reinforced platoon level.  Many of the asymmetric scenarios will only feature a couple of fire teams verses 30-40 insurgents.

2) Drones are featured (including tactical UAVs) as a way of stopping insurgents using Out of Contact movement and they can be used offensively with Hellfires and JDAMs.  EOD droids don't feature in the core rules per se but are covered in the Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) supplement along with a lot of other detail on IEDs and counter IEDs/EOD.

That sounds great! I'll check out the AAG forums, the obvious place to look but thanks for the tip!

Great, thanks! I have been looking at the forum a fair bit, champing at the bit to get my hands on the rules.
