In search of drivers - VSF and otherwise
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:35:59 AM »
I recently picked up a few Lledo horse-drawn vehicles for use in VSF gaming.  They're broadly OK for 25-28mm except some of the drivers are a little small and some are out-and-out 1/72.  I'd like to replace them with 25-28mm figures.

Does anyone know of a suitable source of 25-28mm driver figures?  VSF appropriate ones would be great, but I could probably manage a conversion of any figure that's in the right sort of pose.

Thanks in advance

Edit - the one supplier I'm already aware of is Redoubt Miniatures - any others?

Dixon Miniatures have drivers in their Old West range. They have various different heads one of which is a bowler hat, so perfect for VSF.
I am not sure whether they sell them separately from the wagons though. An Email to Dixon might persuade them to sell you a few.
I have used them on some of my Victorian coaches with some greenstuff added to make overcoats etc.

Here is an example:

Dixon do sell the driver seperately as I bought one recently.
WG70   Seated driver - shirtsleeves £1.10.
My camera doesn't have batteries at the moment so I can't take any pics of him but he's very similar to the one on Oliviers site.

Not sure if they do different head variants though.  You'd have to ask Trevor at Dixon.

They do, I have several, mostly they are wearing cowboy hats, but the bowler hat one is perfect.

Eureka has a set of Victorian Science Fiction Vehicle crew.  The seated chap on the right looks like a driver to me!
