Aren't modern day US helmets based on the German Stahlhelm pattern anyway?

Yup, its why they call it the "Fritz" helmet.

Anyhoo...

Mocked up 14 German mecha grenadiers using kolony troopers with a few peaked cap SHS heads and plastic backpacks from the warzone plastics banhaus troopers, (nice stick grenades etc...)

Also have 8 WW mecha grenadiers made up and 4 zombie nazis.

Toying with copplestone jungle troopers either as more germans as is , (with the steel legion lot that'll be over 60 once I get my bolt action and artizan stuff through) or as airborne with the SORT US SHS heads I've got.

Pics tomorrow.

Two pic of the 14 mock ups, will be building before Christmas and painting during the break.

Very happy with my germans, the field caps with googles and respirators look cool, real late war look to them.

Enjoy

Oooh, nice lead.

Starting the final clean up and fit together tonight for undercoating tomorrow. Hopefully my BAM stuff will be here tomorrow too, (have a little red card from the post office so here's hoping!)

Well,

Didn't get round to fit together till last night anyway:

All metal bases removed.
All heads pinned.
All kolony troopers drilled and pins to fit on resin scenic bases
All warzone backpacks fitted and trimmed
Flame thrower trooper completed.
Head swop on Artizan Iron Cross commander drilled and pinned.
Copplestone jungle fighters heads removed and US Marine heads mocked up.

That was a busy 5 hours! pics later.

Looking good, like the bases, good to see the SOTR head on an Artizan figure, I plan to put some of the new Russian gasmask heads on Mike's Russians for my Ost Front '48 project.

Looking forward to seeing some painted ones.

Looking good so far!
I must confess to thinking the Kolony models might be too scifi but I was wrong!

Cheers guys,

Yeah their weapons look very futuristic however after watching 'the sound of thunder' (time travelling dystopia film from Ray Bradberry's short stories, stand on a butterfly 65,000,000 years ago, change the future etc...) I've decided that the weapons a gauss guns.

I've used SOTR cap heads on the Pig Iron stuff, look very nice I think, also those with caps also have helmets secured on them.

Bases are brilliant and supplied by a fellow frother via his ebay shop; user name: geronimo_jones.

Cheers
