Indian Mutiny Update
« on: October 02, 2011, 06:03:34 PM »
Can't stop adding to the collection when I see something nice:

Finally a pictorial update.  Some new Wargames Foundry Darkest Africa types to double as Indian tribesmen.  Also 40 new Perry Miniatures Ansar/Arabs painted up as Moslem insurgents.  Will take some shots of the new Sikhs soon, forgot to upload them.

On to the Zulu War next, reckon around a month's worth of work to do.

One can't have enough natives.
Like how you painted them.
Foundry Dark Africa figures are so nice, love painting them.

Jon, you are a painting beast, can't wait to see how the game has evolved since I saw it in June. Love the Mutiny!

Cheers Mike, I've done a new Punjab Irregular Force to add to the Brits - four units of 10 Sikhs plus five officers, two Anglo-Indian drummers and a standard bearer.  I've got a bunch of new rebel cavalry to paint up, then plan to add some more tribal types.  Hoping to get started on the Lucknow Residency soon and bunch of boats.  Lots more terrain bits and pieces too.
In the meantime, I'm making some buildings for Tom (Spanish style white plastered with red tile roof) to be based on 12" squares.  The next big job is to finally finish off the Zulu War collection, that'll leave the post Christmas period free to concentrate on making pirate ships!

Thanks Marine, really loved painting these figures, the Foundry ones are particularly nice.  Love  this new range of figures which has lots of potential:

Nice to see how useful the Ansar are.

Very useful.  Mind you, the sprues aren't exactly generous in terms of arm options.  There's not enough for you not to have musket armed men for example.  Suppose you could cut the muskets out of the hands if you really wanted.

New additions to the Indian Mutiny collection. Keep adding to this lot - can't stop painting them I love the period so much! More to come.

Miniature Figurines 28mm Indian cavalry. Three troops of 8 plus a command unit. These will become part of the rebel army.

Close up of the cavalry. Have given each troop different coloured turbans to help id them on the table.

Third shot of the cavalry.

Wargames Foundry, Old Glory and QT figures - officers for the new Punjabis. Tents, well and fires by Italeri - nice kits.

A second shot of the officers and drummers. Stanard bearer by Old Glory. Flag is speculative, but looks right.

Third shot of the officers.

Four ten man Sikh companies re-united with their officers.

The Sikhs are Red Wing figures, now out of production.

Two of the Sikh companies.

A skirmish line of Sikhs.

Front shot of the two centre companies with the officers, drummers and standard bearer.

The fourth company in skirmish order.

More again soon.

Boy you have been busy.
Like the Red Wing figures.
But again I like the Cav, and the camp also.
Hey, I like them all.
What rules are you planning to use?

Thanks Marine and Joroas.  I like the Red Wing figures too, but they do have big heads.

Have written my own set for the Indian Mutiny which we used for the first season.  By June 2012 when they get their next outing on the table we'll be using Black Powder.

Some cute new Minifigs with a couple of Essex for the collection.  Bought these painted, but had to start from scratch again.

More in a week or two - 60 new British including a Naval Brigade unit, a rocket battery, a large elephant drawn artillery platform, forty more tribesmen and a 160 Perry tribals.
