I can't pick up much locally in 15 or 28mm here in my part of th UK either, 20mm would be a lot easier and I have considered going other scales than 15mm. Found I could make savings on the figures and/or vehicles but the thought and expense of collecting and painting the scenery in another scale put me off in the end. So it's 15mm all round for me even when doing other eras or theatres as a lot of kit can still be used from my existing collection, I'm not prepared to duplicate my collection in varying scales. I point this out as it's something I did not consider fully myself a few years ago when I decided it was cheaper to start again in 10mm rather than continue in 15mm bases solely on the price of figures/vehicles. It was only after I bought German and British armies for NWE and painted a fair bit up that I realised they needed something to fight over. This terrain would cost even more than the 15mm vehicles I based my comparison on! In 15mm I had plenty of buildings. Just trying to stop someone potentially making the same mistake as I did.

Still wish I'd stuck with 20mm in the first place though but got rid on the bulk of my collection about 20 years ago.

Hi Nigel,

Yes, terrain can get expensive and that can influence your decisions. However, just like the miniatures a lot of cheap plastic scenery is also readily available as well. I think in the long run as I do multiple years and seasons I'll save money, but at first your right it will cost more starting from scratch.
Also, I'm not getting any younger and the 15mm stuff is getting harder to see both in painting and on the table! lol

Just received my copy of KGN, a really nice book and throughly worth the £24 I gave for it, not sure I'd be willing to pay twice as much though for it, especially when there's so many of those nice pictures and similar available free on the net or in cheap(er) history books.
Now it's time to digest the rules and give the system a spin, especially since it seems that the vast majority of reviews are very favourable.

Mine arrived today as well. No intention of using the rules but I'll look at the pictures quite a lot :)
