Hi Guys.
Does anyone have any pictures or detailed accounts of what Gordons Khartoum looked like.??
In particular what ist defensive walls were like,cant seem to find much.
Any help would be great.

IIRC the Osprey book by Donald Featherstone (Khartoum 1885 ?) has some very good illustrations.

have a look through the old posts on this forum..I'm sure someone recently posted about what Suakin looked like. I imagine that Khartoum couldn't have looked too different .

There is a diagram on page70 showing Khartoum in 1884 and it is based on a map by Slatin Pasha.
