Basmachi

Does anyone have suggestions for 28mm Basmachi?  What did these guys look like?

I have found:

http://images.evrazia.org/images/basmachi.jpg

The first looks like someone of immense importance while the second does not show any real detail (other than that they were mounted.)

Enver Pasha needs to have some troops to lead in an upcoming T&T game.

Hi,

I found this article here :

http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9013641/Basmachi-Revolt

It has no pictures but this sentence captured my interest !

"An amalgam of Muslim traditionalists and common bandits"

I would look for figures who fit this description.
Very interested topic you picked mate !!!

Cheers

Osprey armies of the RCW - whites has some pics. Despite my image before the better units wore a kind of uniform with strong central asian influences and were equipped with modern side arms.

Good minis are scarce, I use Foundry Baluchis, but those are really more useful for bandits.
If you come for the king, you better not miss (Omar)

A TMP search came up with this post:

The NW Frontier Range has been pulled and I have not been able to find any pictures of that range on the web.  I did stumble across these in the India Tribesmen section though.

I could build units from these and use the Turkish officers (by Copplestone) to represent advisers.

I really like the line you found Driscoles.'

I might throw some Baluchis in as bandits to give the group even more color.  To bad the Basmachi didn't include a small contingent of Ruga-Ruga.  That would make them one of the most colorful groups of fighters around.

I also just found this ebay auction that has indians in fur hats (which is how the Osprey RCW - White Russians) depicts the Basmachi.
