"Northern Dwarves"?
« on: October 10, 2011, 07:30:04 PM »
Hi all, I was browsing through Fenryll's stuff and I happened on these delightful dwarves.

Now, I'm not much of a dwarf man, but I have a dwarven culture in my fantasy world that needs some developing.
I find these figures to be very charming and charismatic, their facial features, garb, and weapons heavily reminding me of the 1977 film adaptation of The Hobbit (which I love.)

Are there any other dwarfish folk out there that resemble these?
They don't need to be consistent with the horned helmets, or even the clothing - but the facial features and expressions are greatly desired.
Many thanks.

They are out there but sometimes you have to buy a pack just for one dwarf, some of GW OOP dwarves had a Norse feel to them, Foundry had some too.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Those are VERY COOL looking Dwarfs & BEAUTIFULLY painted. Westwind's Dwarf Wars Dwarfs have a very Norse feel to them, although they're quite different from the Fenryll minis...they're also rather large.

I think the best way to get something similar is by adding beards to night goblins.

... o__o
That's... quite brilliant, actually!  lol

The old Citidel/GW ones are worth my while - I'll invest some research into those as well.

Great work and nice models.

Your avatar has already given away that you like the old Hobbit movie. ;) Your dwarves remind me much of the Boromir in the Bakshi movie... Bit smaller perhaps...

I think the best way to get something similar is by adding beards to night goblins.

That sounds wrong on so many levels...  lol
