New African Explorers
« on: October 11, 2011, 04:34:03 PM »
Hi Everyone

I've just posted on our Facebook site the first pictures of Steve Salehs 19th Century African explorer figures. We are calling the pack Wazungu. This is the name given in our rule book 'Death in the Dark Continent' to individuals or small groups of heavily armed and well motivated explorers and hunters in Africa.

They will be available to buy in a day or so, a better photograph will also be ready soon.

Cheers

Nice figures Nick, think I will have to avail myself of those. Particularly like the "chubby" guy

I really like the tubby hunter's pose and expression.

He made me think of Theodore Roosevelt - but I may have an opinion coloured by having just given up on Wilbur Smith's 'Assegai' in which he features on his African safari.

Fun figures.  I wonder how tall they stand?  The tubby one is surely intended to be a Colonel from FUUK, right?

The figures are tall 28mm's, but these have come from the master mould. They will go through one more moulding process, then we'll know how tall they are in comparison to our other models.

I'm offering them for sale individually for the next week, just so you can buy the ones you specifically like. Note the accounts are 'almost' completely fictional.

(The fat dude is actually moping his brow with a handkerchief, I'll be getting clearer photos on site later this week.)

Fantastic, Nick. Can't wait to order some. Are you only going to sell them seperately, or can we get all four as a set? (I've already got some of your others)

The set is slightly cheaper. The individual figure offer is just for the week, it'll be a pack of Wazungu after that like the rest of the range.

Good looking figures.
Are they based on any real life people?

One is more or less Stanley, the guy in the shirt is based on Selous but the fat dude is straight from the mind of Steve. The hunter is based on a fictional film character.
