Here we go gents I've made some progress after a brief hiatus needed for the NZ Galliopli Diorama project and a house move prior to this
I've finally got around to the basing and flag painting on some of the Pikemen though

Now that I've sent off my contigent to Gallipoli.. :'( https://valleyboyinnz.wordpress.com/

I've made an effort over the past week to finish the flags on the Swiss pikemen by Artizan, the single Landsknecht regiment and Old Glory French Pike

Here's a Landsknecht regiment attacking, I'm not sure about the pose though apart from the large base needed to allow for the leveled pike and won't get another I think

Some Swiss regiments. the one on the left was painted a few years ago but I've just added another flag just for the overall effect

Here's a second regiment again in the same red & white colour scheme

The third is a little different and comes with a large dose of artistic licence

The Old Glory Pikemen are really good value for money and pretty simple to paint
The only problem is that I've struggled to find details of French flags of this period and so for now have painted them all in the colours of the Picardie region

The flags are all wrapped on styrene tube that slides over the pike and so are interchangeable in the long run once I get around to painting others ( Credit for the idea goes to James Roach http://olicanalad.blogspot.co.nz/search/label/Original%20Flags)

if anyone does know of any other French Flag designs I'd be grateful

I've still got quite a bit to finish though will be moving on to painting some French Napoleonics next for a refight of Waterloo in Wellington in June but in the intyerim I've also bought 2 regiments of Pro Gloria figures from Warlord!
I cannot pretend to feel impartial about colours. I rejoice with the brilliant ones and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns. - Winston Churchill

Excellent.  It is nice to see the various figures, especially the Old Glory figures in close up.
