Even the Older Ral Partha dwarves (when you can find them) are costly.

Dwarves of the Anvil/Blue Mountain - how little I valued their availability then...   :?   ::)

Some can be found at http://classicminiatures.net/ but alas, not all.

Buy them while you can, young ones, buy them while you can...

And never sell them!  Oh my goblins, my goblins...

Gracias,

Glenn

Is 'Custom Cast' another way of saying recast?

Wonder who has the IP and copyright  ???

Custom Cast is the name of the company that made those miniatures in the 1970s.  I'm not entirely certain of the history, but at some point ownership of them was transferred to Heritage.

Are there recasters - Yes.  Who is a recaster - don't know...

There also is  http://www.classicminiatures.net/  for a known legitimate source of some of the older miniatures.

Some great dwarves! As you know I've got a few of each and am on the look out for more as well. :) That seller is obviously speculating, but I have seen them go for $3 each in batches. But I doubt I've seen them go for more than that. I lost one auction where I was putting in a really half-ass bid as budgets were exceeded and ten of them or so went for way less than $2 each.

It does fascinate me about how some people evaluate the price they can get for a miniature...

With postage it's approaching $10 for some of these figures.  I love a lot of them but $10 each isn't realistic, IMNSHO anyway.

Now if I was an evil re-caster and I wanted a bunch for my personal use I suppose that price for a quality figure to make a mold from might be reasonable but I'm not going down that road no matter how much I like them.  There are other goblin/orc sources...

Gracias,

Glenn
