First Post - Hello
« on: October 22, 2011, 07:25:46 AM »
Just signed up and the Prof informs me that I need to post pretty soon or get deleted, which sounds painful.

I am Richard Clarke, I game lots of periods from about 1780 onwards.  Typical wargaming moth who flits from one candle to the next as the whim takes me.  WWII is my BIG period at present, I game chiefly at company or platoon level.  Thought I'd sign up here as I have heard nothing but good things about LAF.  Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Richard

This is true.

Welcome, take your coat off and have a seat, you'll be here for a long time.  I'll get a brew on.

Thanks for your kind welcome.  Gibby, I rather fear that I didn't let Neil have much of the platform on M&M.  Hopefully I din't blather on too much!

Hi Helen, nice to see a familiar face.  Hope all is well with you.

Thank you Rich, I'm fine as I hope you are too.

Are we going to see some WW2 news here?

Cheers,

Hi Helen

Well, the new version of I Ain't Been Shot Mum is being released this coming Tuesday, so I shall tell you about that when it happens.  I am frantically stuffing envelopes as we speak.  The house is full of boxes of rule books, card decks, tokens and other ancillary stuff, it looks like a bomb has hit it, and now the missus has invited her mother round for Sunday lunch!  Great.   :?

I'm afraid that I first read this as I ain't been half-shot, Mum and immediately started fantasising about a hilarious set of rules set around an ENSA theatrical troupe trapped behind the lines in Burma. Armed only with a set of greasepaint, a box of tatty dresses and thousands of music-hall double-entendres they have to battle their way to the coast through several divisions of Japanese theatre critics.

It's a massacre.

You had to be there....

And by the way, welcome Rich!
