I Ain't Been Shot Mum Now Available
« on: October 27, 2011, 02:16:11 PM »
I feel slightly embarassed peddling my wares having only recently signed up here, so I do hope that nobody will be offended.

The new edition of I Ain't Been Shot Mum is now available.  To celebrate ten years since we published the original rules we have completely updated these with some really significant changes to command and control to make the game more enjoyable and more historically plausible in their results.  The rules are in full colour and available in hard copy, PDF format or navigable PDF which is designed for an iPad but works equally well on a notebook or laptop.  In addition to the rules we have a Card Deck and set of Game Tokens available either individually or as part of some great value bundle packs.  We also have a limited edition 28mm figure of Captain Hugh Jarce, a truly heroic Big Man, that we are giving away with the first 500 orders.

Rather than me blather on here you can find out much more on Lard Island News here:  http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/

Again, apologies if this is considered a bit "Spammy".

I am tempted as I have a couple of sets of their rules.  Anyone recommend these?

These rules are highly recomended. With the current hard copy bundle offer of a ruleset, tokens and cards they are really good value to boot!

Received my hard copy bundle yesterday.   A lovely package, easy to read and looks fun to play.  Very high quality production values, and I like the fact that it's not a hardback which will crush my figures if mishandled at the gaming table.   :)

Thanks Helen, I appreciate your reassurance.

James, thanks for your kind words.  We are really pleased with how the rules look.  I hope you enjoy them.

IABSM has been one of my two favorite rulesets ever since it came out. A fresh breath of wind in the hobby.
I'm definitely getting the new edition.

Nice battle report, or rather, it would have been, if you had skipped all the degrading and ridicule of the germans. Its getting a bit stale.

Which battle report is that?

I must admit that I'd be interested to know which battle report is being referred to.  I have never psted any battle report that degraded or ridiculed the Germans, either individually or collectively.

I am at a loss to know how to react.

Perhaps it's the "Commando Magazine" German dialogue in the speech bubbles? and some of the punny names?

But then he's missed the equally punny names and stereotypes used for the Brits and Yanks in other games.

I use small plastic/ brass rings, the sort of thing used with curtains. I purchased mine from  Wilkinsons, a high street hardware store in the UK. Place these over figures to indicate a casualty. If coloured black they do not look too out of place.

We use small rings (Austrian Blind rings work well for 15mm figures) and as stated they look fine in a dark or neutral colour.  We use micro-dice for Shock.
