First footsteps on Mars - IMPERVIOUS SUITS ADDED
« on: October 30, 2011, 04:07:25 PM »
The French have arrives rather late in the day on Mars, having concentrated on colonising Venus.

The first troops to land are the Fusiliers Aerospatiale (Warrior Miniatures 'North Sea Sailors' from their England Invaded range).

This is my first attempt at Martian basing and I'm quite pleased with the effect.

My next job is to repaint the bases of my buildings while the glue sets on the final detailing on my new aeronef.

Welcome to Mars!

Now get out! (gunfire commences)

Seriously - been watching your Aeronef go up - yet another example of the brilliance on this board!

The buildings are discontinued Snapdragon 'not Tatooine' dwellings. I have two small and two large ones, plus a ruin. Should be enough to represent any Martian setltement I need.

Nice figures, and I agree that the bases look really good; nice contrast to the blues of the uniform.

To start with, here are the Fusiliers Aerospatiale, armed with compressed gas guns firing a heavy slug capable of taking out all but the largest of any hostile fauna they might meet:

The Chasseurs a Vapeur (figures by Brigade Games with Westwind kepi' gas mask heads):

Detail of their steam powered jump packs:

and a land monitor to provide some heavy support:
