There are new hard plastic marines coming from Defiance Games and the Frontier Forces from Mega Mini are as cheap as chips...

The Defiance Games stuff looks quite nice, I'd not heard of them before.  The weapon design has a nice near future quality to it, rail system is a nice touch.

overall I do like em but dont know why.

lol lol lol lol lol

Best conclusion ever! lol

I'm not really impressed after your review, so: can you post some sprue pics? because on the site the pics are really small! Some sprue view should be great!

I don't get why they kept the medeval armors: the main cost for the plastic moulds is the mould making, not the sculpting! that's odd... :)

SPRUES! ;)

Well, first of all i'm not against mantic: i generally don't like very much the style, but the quality is good, and i support everyone who makes plastic against the evil GW.

If i ask for the sprues is because i'm curious to see them, not to insult them. =)
But of course it's up to you, you can post what you like! =) I think that a painted and assembled mini will give the best potential, but a naked sprue has much more informations about the mins, even if not elaborated! ^^

I hope Defiance takes off.  A U.S. manufacturer of plastic Sci-Fi minis that look serious would be fantastic!  I wish they had more on their website but what they have looks good.  I wish I could find a good U.S. distributer of many of the U.K. and European companies.  I used to order from the Warstore but they don't have the variety in Sci-Fi they used to have.

Any news, by the way? They look quite slow in the business (well, i'm much slower, so it's not a criticism), but i really want to see them! and not just a teaser pic!

to be honest I think sprue view will cause angst after my somewhat reserved review, How about I get off my bum and finish painting a few up and then post both pics of sprue and some half decently painted ones up. (with some gun swaps and extra gubbins on em.) That way I think you will get a more blanced view and be able to understand why I like em but dont know why.

Also might save this thread from turning into a can mantic thread which I dont want to do. I paid loot for their stuff after all and once constructed with a gun swap or a bit of converting their horrid pistols to decent ones they look... weirdly ok.

Oh and I think the paint jobs on the official ones dont do em justice. (not saying mine are better, but being honest I like my paint jobs more.)

Im painting them as blood axes in desert cammo and a freebooterz squad cus I have a bloody wicked plastic AV7 from Eureka which I think is 54mm scale. THis makes it an excellent platform for a kit bashed desert crawler.

Thanks for the review on them, and glad to see you're still alive  :)

Well, the pieces are quite simple and definitely not at the level of gw, but they are also really interesting, and not as peculiar as the gw ones! :)

Thanks Scurv, that's interesting! :)
