Achilles' Fallout Modelling Blog - Side Project!
« on: November 22, 2011, 08:28:22 PM »
Well I have been distracted from painting Zambies while I wait for my next Hasslefree order to come in. My Brother Vinni figs arrived last week and I've spent a fun few ahours with my first five.  As there are only actally three individual Fallout figs in this line I've done some work to individualize them.

Here are the Brotherhood of Steel adventurers I've put together to start. I've got another 5 Brotherhood troopers to build in order to have an actual 'squad'...but these are my Individuals. :)

My Brotherhood Commander. Just a few cuts and repositions wth a Eden head swap and hand from an old Warzone Imperial Regular.

Brotherhood Scribe, looking up information on his Pip Boy 3000!

Brotherhood Scout in Combat Armour, with a Sniper Rifle ans sunshades. Again, stock from the pack.

Brotherhood Heavy Weapon's trooper with Minigun. This one required quite a bit of chopping and repositioning, especially in the shoulders and hands. The bits are all from an old Imperial Regular, which fit perfectly on this figure and in with the Fallout theme in general. Very happy with this guy.

And finally a Brotherhood sergeant with Laser Rifle. This is just a stock build of the Brother Vinni fig... I wanted at least one to see what I am working with.

My other 5 will get built some time after I finish these. I'll likely use a mixture of Assault Rifles and I'm going to try to build a Gatling Laster as well. :)

More to come as I get to painting them!

All life is an experiment.
The more experiments you make, the better.

top-notch !  :-*
I've got 5 of those guys and wasn't sure wether converting a resin fig was an option.
However, I read somewhere that extra arms (# poses) should come out in the near future, so, I'll await these before attempting to ruin a perfectly good fig  ::)

for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Luckily these figs come in fully poseable condition... They were super easy to convert.

Wow!  :o

Excellent conversions there. I hadn't the nerve to chop mine up, given how expensive they are!

The pip-boy is actually a displacer glove if you look closely.

Very good conversions.  Clever use of warzone plastic bits.   :-*
It will be really interesting to see them painted.

It was planned as pipboy, just not the model you usually see in the game:

Ah I see!
I checked the pic of the displacer glove on The Vault and it looks very similar to that too, between that and never actually seeing any scribe with a Pipboy, I figured it was a displacer glove which many Hidden Valley scribes are armed with.

I'm using it as a displacer anyway, Pipboys are for Vaulters only in my Fallout rules  ;)

Lol, Pip Boys ... The eternal debate!

Hopefully I'll have some paint on these next week Nim. Thanks again for lovely kits. I'm looking forward to more!
