I put mine on 30mm round discs as in jungles/forests I always assume it is wooded with clearings being mapped out with hills etc sort of the normal reverse where woods and forests are delineated with large bases.



Also note the foliage mat I used rather than the bleeding aweful clump material, a lot less hassle though makes for more layered flat canopy on branches

We put pins in the end of the tree trunks (just like with our palmtrees) since its much more pleaseing to the eye when the trees are "planted" on the gaming table, and it also yields the ability to move them around and replace them elsewhere if so desired.

That sounds great for foam boards, especially as the idea of permanently planting trees on boards is a bit scary to me - storage nightmare.
