Goblin Doom Divers [PICS]
« on: December 06, 2011, 05:14:19 PM »
Hello adventurers, I haven't been very productive painting-wise lately but recently I did finish a commission of some goblin Doom Divers, or Hand/Hang Gliders as Foundry calls them. They are quite nice models, but also quite rough. They were fun to paint and I hope you like them! The goblin skin tone is darker than I would go for but it was at the clients request.

First some group shots:

The platform:

A crashed goblin:

The goblin with bellows

And finally the goblin taking off:

Enjoy!
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

Excellent diorama which captures fully the ingenuity of Goblins!  I love the guy underneath with the bellows and the patchwork glider wings.

VERY COOL! The Doom Divers are one of those things that highlight Goblins' rather tenuous hold on reality. The crazy quilt wings are TERRIFIC. The minis are WONDERFULLY silly; & the painting & basing as always is VERY WELL DONE!

Really cool model, shame the GW one is nicer, cheaper and funnier.

Also bigger!

Great paintjob though!

Thanks all! This model is indeed very nice, my favourite addition to the hang glider range has to be the giant hill troll throwing one  :-*

Just checked, looks like I looked at the price of 3! Never mind! I really like the character of the kit, but still prefer the GW one. I like all the little extras of this one and the guy with the bellows is a great touch.

Being a John Pickford fanatic I'm probably not the right guy to comment on these, but have to say that you did an wonderful job painting these. The para-gliders are amongst my favourite of the Goblins John has done for Foundry. Gliders and the dwarf torture :) And yes, should finish these with the fantastic Hill Troll. You have my support :D

Good job - great minis too.

The troll is a lot of fun too - what are you waiting for!  :D

Well, for starters I don't have it and the other hang gliders aren't mine either, I just painted them ;)
