Colonial Day
« on: November 30, 2011, 04:18:15 PM »
A few of the chaps got together for what we hope to be the first of many Colonial Days. Two months of feverish painting to get as many figures as possible for an Indian Mutiny themed day. The British and Pathans took on the Mutineers in a series of skirmish games using The Sword and the Flame rules. We then put all of the tables together and played a large siege game (with some extra objectives) using Black Powder. The results of the skirmish games influenced who was the defender for the "big game" scenario and the quality of the commanders.

To be honest it was a bit of a rush to fit it all in, next time we will be a little less ambitious - perhaps just one game - with more figures on a bigger table!

The first three show the skirmish games - taken directly from the TS&TF scenario booklet. The final two of the "big game" one of the whole table and the other of the Mutineers storming the city walls.

S&F for the first two games then a large game of Black Powder

The gaming tables look great.
Do you have any closeups of the battles?

Thanks - its mostly terrain from my local club (Huntingdon UK) with a few bits from the players thrown in.

I have plenty of photos so will look into adding a few close-ups.

I shall ignore that HM. Did you want to add any yourself?

As requested some close-up shots of the table.

The first few are at the start of the game showing the set-up, followed by shots during the action.

I'm sure that the eagle-eyed will spot that we were a little liberal with which figures were allowed. Apologies to the purists.
