So, for those that ran games at Tactica, did the game go as you thought or did the players take you off in an unexpected direction (as seems to happen soooo often at convention games)?
Speaking for our Trojan War game: Since we weren't staging a simulation (don't think anyone there did) players were free in their decision making. With the mission cards given to each player we just tried to add a bit of flavour, both of the Mycenaean period and Homer's Iliad. So, on one (admittedly, extreme) occasion, after Achilles had been revealed he got killed by Hector. We didn't expect that, but it was a great moment - and that's what it should be all about me thinks.
