Turning Point:
Fall of Liberty takes place in an alternate timeline, in which Winston Churchill is hit by a cab in New York City in 1931 and dies in the incident.[1] In the real world, he survived and went on to rally the British people to fight against the German threat; however, in this alternate timeline, Britain was without a strong leader and was invaded by the Third Reich. Presumably, the rest of Europe, Iceland and Greenland also fell to the Axis Powers soon afterwards. Victorious, the Axis launches an attack on the American Eastern Seaboard in 1953. The opening scene in the game places the player right in the heat of a surprise attack on New York City.[2]
The game includes more advanced versions of Axis WWII weapons, as well as new ones that were being researched and/or developed during WWII, but never made it to production in real-life because of the Nazis' ultimate demise.
The crucial point here is that the player does not act as a soldier; in fact the main character has no connection to the military. The player is an average construction worker and instead of trying to win the war single-handedly, like in some other war-based FPS games, the main objective is simply to survive the doctrine of total war.[3]
Enjoy and roll on Feb 2008 and the invasion of the United States, (well you know what I mean!
).
The Commander.
