Quote from: "Argonor"
Bought myself a plastic toy castle today. 'Falcon Castle' form a company named Simba...

It's snap-together and set me back about €16 (Dkr 130).

It'll be fairly large when assembled, and is about right for 28 mm (could possibly be used for 30-40 mm as well).

Can be assembled in quite a few different ways, I think...

Exactly!  :)

Edit: The 'minis' in the pic are in the neighbourhood of 40 mm (perhaps a little taller) to the eyes, but they look a bit big on the battlements.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Do you plan on painting it up?

That should be a quick paint ot get it looking much better than out of the box. Even a spray cote of black, with a drybrush of grey will be a huge improvement, and could be done in a days time.

Hornby dry stone walls

Just got some lovely dry stone walls from Hornby.
They came really quick ( post free too ) and are perfect for 20mm gaming.
Don't have to paint them either.

Well, I didn't buy too many figures at Cold Wars (just some feathered dinosaurs from Jeff Valent and the new Vikings from Bronze Age), however, I did snag some great Acheson resin buildings. The painted ones were painted by Evil Bob's Painting service.

These will be used for the Broadsword Adventures games (including a playtest game I'll be running on the 27th.)

Some of the buildings are Dark Age saxon buildings, some are just fantasy pieces, but all of them work together well. You can see that I have primed the half-ruined tower. All the buildings have lift off roofs so you can use the interiors.

funny, most of my Cold Wars spending was also on terrain. I picked up some standing corn, a large wheatfield, resin gabions, and a superb tree construction kit, all from Battlefield Terrain Concepts. I did buy some Gripping Beast pigs and sheep and grabbed some hay and supply wagons from Old Glory. Now I just need to do a little construction and painting to have a nice little F&I / AWI farmstead for my Indians to raid.

Those are great. I particularly like that round stone hut. Very... S&S?

Got an order of army tents from Magister Militum. A bit disappointed with them really, not the quality, but the size.

BT008/9:

http://www.magistermilitum.com/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=803&strPageHistory=cat

I know it says 25mm, not 28, but I still somehow thought they'd be a bit bigger. They're still useable, I'll just have to be careful how I base them now, and see if I can raise them a couple of mm.

My own fault really. Glad they weren't expensive.  :(

Actually, given that we once got seven people in a two man tent for the night, maybe they aren't such a bad size...

Got a delivery of Graupner deck details from Westbourne Model Center. Allow me a brief *Wooo!* since the brass stanchions, bollards, companionways and winches would have taken me ages to scratchbuild.
