I always think about a question like this and come to the conclusion that, as small as Grymn are, they can't choose their enemies...just the same that any race can't.

Tyranids, Orks, Martians...you name it; the Grymn will fight them .

Imagine a table with a bunch of Orks attacking a bunch of Grymn and getting cut to pieces by their concentrated fire-power.  Don't underestimate them, just because they are short!
